f11female2_s-polar-fem.jpgThere are a number of infomercials stating that their workout program will have you looking fit with just minutes exercising a day.  Are these quick fix programs something that really work or waste of time.  There are some benefits to short burst exercising but nothing to improve your heart and lungs in the long run.  It is always important to include the use of a heart rate monitor when exercising in any program.  Most of quick workouts consist of working two muscle groups each day for five to six days.  Most professional trainers believe that a few minutes of exercise per day in not enough for anyone.

A good program for success and recommended is a program that has a mixture of cardiovascular exercise and strength training.  This program should consist of 20 to 60 minutes of cardio three to five times per week.  The strength training portion should be two to three times per week.  Polar heart rate monitors has many features to support this program and some are discount heart rate monitors. This program will build muscle mass, boost metabolism, reduce risk of diabetes, hardening of the arteries and obesity.  Haven said that, any added exercise can always help and improve your life and well being.
